Introduction
Welcome Year 5 and Year 6 to your Antarctic Wildlife Pathfinder!
Though you may not think so, Antarctica has an abundance of wildlife, almost all of it being dependent on the sea. As you research you will discover that despite its harshness, Antarctica is home to a number of fascinating animals which have adapted to survive the continent’s extreme conditions.
The purpose of this pathfinder is to provide easy access to useful resources and to guide you as you research your assignment about wildlife in Antarctica. To work your way through the pathfinder use the links on the top of the webpage. Click on this link, Information Skills Process, and print it out. Keep it with your assignment task so that you can check that you are always on the right track. The first step is Defining-
- What is my purpose?
- Why do I need to find this out?
- What are the key words and ideas of the task?
- What do I need to do?
Think about these questions before you start so that you have a clear idea about what you need to do. Ask your teacher or the teacher librarian for help whenever you are not sure.
